How Football Player Speed Tracking Is Similar To Fleet Analytics

This past Sunday, Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb ran for 165 yards and three touchdowns, helping his team secure a 40-25 win over the Baltimore Ravens. On his most explosive run of the day, an 88-yard bolt to the end zone, Chubb reached a ridiculous top speed of 21.95 miles per hour, per Next Gen Stats.

The National Football League has been experimenting with new ways to track player performance, measuring advanced statistics using cutting-edge technology. Thanks to concepts like ultra-accurate speed clocking and catch percentage measurements on tight-window throws, insightful data is readily available on how players are performing, and as a result, the performance analysis process is more detailed than it’s ever been.

At Actsoft, our applications’ GPS Tracking feature mirrors many of the innovative technologies the NFL uses to track routes and top speeds by its players on long touchdown runs. Our tracking solutions are able to record the top speeds and route histories of each individual vehicle in your organization’s fleet using a combination of hardware and software, providing a powerful new way for you to regulate operations in the field. From your Actsoft solution’s dashboard, see a live view map of your vehicles in near real-time, as well as the directions they’re traveling. Advanced statistics on stop times, route histories, and speeds traveled by your mobile employees in company vehicles are also available to managers, allowing your business team to enhance quality, safety, and efficient fuel usage. If certain staff members are traveling faster than you’d like for them to while en route to an assignment, use Alerts to receive  notifications any time your customized thresholds for speeding are exceeded.

With advanced technology that collects and reports data on your fleet’s activities, Actsoft solutions are designed to help your managers stay in control of the mobile workforce they employ. Use our tools to increase team accountability by identifying excessive speeding and unnecessary stops by members of your remote teams while they’re on their way to scoring you more business.

Practical Uses for Form Workflows

As one of the most dynamic tools that our Wireless Forms feature has to offer, Form Workflows* is an essential way for companies using our solutions to streamline their documentation processes. This is done through employees digitally sending incomplete forms from one mobile device to the next, allowing them to fill out any relevant information in a seamless chain of command. In addition to helping your staff save time, Form Workflows can also help enhance the accuracy of your documents’ data, as well as allow you to implement authorization processes for submitted forms. Personnel who have greater permissions are able to reject and send back an electronic document once it’s been submitted to them to the previous user if there are certain portions missing or if the data is incorrect. Here are a few practical ways that Form Workflows can be used in three different industries:

Construction

A construction company can rely on Form Workflows to track the near real-time progress of their building projects with documentation routing. As certain aspects of a project gradually become finished, the teams that were responsible for their completion can fill in details about the construction site’s timeline and send them back wirelessly for management at the home office to review.

Healthcare

For healthcare organizations, monitoring medical services delivered remains key for quality control and verification purposes. Using Form Workflows, these companies can store and transmit data back to headquarters in a highly secure environment, giving individuals on their administrative teams extra abilities to sign off on and evaluate details about conducted patient visits.

Transportation

Moving cargo is easier to do by using Form Workflows to help trace vehicle stops and shipment statuses. Truck drivers who are taking goods from the warehouse to the airport for worldwide distribution can use a tandem of Form Workflows and Signature Capture to ensure that deliveries are successfully handed off. As a result, customer service can remain optimized, as increasingly efficient workflow tracking provides more realistic package arrival times for the clients awaiting them.

Find out more about how Form Workflows can help your organization implement accuracy checklists, save your company time and money, and improve its service levels to customers today.

*Form Workflows is a feature exclusively available to users of Encore’s Ultimate tier.

Herbie and KITT: What Personality Does Your Car Have?

These days, the color of your car and extras like leather, tinted windows, and sunroofs are not the only things that give your car its personality — your new car’s operating system may also inform your decision on whether you call it Tina, Thomas, or Turbo. With a whole host of flashy connectivity options that are designed to make your ride easier, safer, and more entertaining, there’s a strange feeling that the car is now a … friend, pal, buddy? After all, she has our best interests at heart … or heart-drive. She is courteous and kind; she never shouts. She patiently notifies us when we’re about to hit a curb or make a wrong turn. We’ve come a long way from the talking cars of yore.

Remember 60’s icon Herbie the Lovebug? He was cute, naturally, but definitely had a mind of his own. Some might even say he was a little too independent. So much for German engineering. Fast forward a couple decades and Knight Rider’s KITT arrives on the scene. KITT was protagonist Michael’s trusty co-pilot/car, whom he could count on for sage advice in a pinch.

We may not be quite to the level as the two aforementioned examples, but with incredible mobile applications like Actsoft’s Encore, it’s easy for cars to monitor driving habits and securely transmit them back to home base. Depending on the driver, this could mean reward or reprimand. Either way, telematics-enabled cars are fast becoming the rule and not the exception. Along with sending driver reports, mobile solutions like this can also send vehicle maintenance alerts, cutting down on potentially costly car damage and liability.

So, what’s next? A car that can do our taxes? Give us financial advice? Help us get out of dinner with the in-laws? Whatever this new model is, let’s hope it’s more KITT and less Herbie.

Branding

Make our solution truly yours by altering its look and feel to fit your business’s brand. Select different color schemes for your interface and easily import your company’s logo into the application to integrate Encore with your business’s message and existing employee workflows. Having an application that’s in compliance with your company’s brand can also help staff become acclimated with the solution more expediently.

Module Customization

Encore gives companies the ability to choose only the features they can benefit from the most with module customization. With options for Timekeeping, Wireless Forms, GPS Tracking, Job Dispatching, and more, Encore helps your team improve upon the biggest weaknesses in your mobile workforce’s operations, ensuring you’re only paying for the capabilities you need.

“Companies today are looking for an adjustable, bespoke business application like Encore,” said Xavier Charles, Actsoft’s director of marketing. “Encore is built in a modular format, allowing organizations to truly tailor the solution’s features strictly to what their businesses require and nothing they don’t. While many other solutions offer too many unnecessary features at too high of a price, our affordable-but-powerful solution puts the business owner in control by letting them customize its functionalities to their company’s specific needs.”

Custom Reporting

Focus solely on the metrics that you need and nothing else using Custom Reporting. Having to sift through irrelevant information while reviewing generalized reports can slow down productivity for your team, make it harder to pinpoint analytics that directly impact revenue, and drain bandwidth; Custom Reporting eliminates these issues by allowing your admins to send reports to selected individuals and tailor them to only include key data points.

Encore’s customization abilities work to make versatility achievable for your workforce. Contact us today to find out more about how your organization can gain benefits like increased revenue, more informed decision-making, and streamlined productivity using the power of our ultra-tailorable solution.

Setting the Pace for Your Workforce

High productivity doesn’t necessarily mean just staying constantly busy. In fact, time management is perhaps the most crucial aspect to keeping productivity optimized for your workforce. Without a plan of how your team needs to be spending its working hours, you could actually end up setting your organization backwards a few steps.

To enhance time management and productivity, first start by outlining the jobs that your workforce needs to complete. Whether they’re revenue-based, retention-based, or internal, the importance level of each will be vital in helping your administrative team delegate its tasks. Arrange these initiatives by priority to help your entire company target its most pressing goals and better achieve them through clear, concise communication with the staff members that will complete them.

It’s also important to set a good pace for how realistic it will be for your team to finish each task. Do this by reviewing past projects, how long it took for those to get done, and evaluating any new steps that your current ones will require accordingly. Establishing realistic, flexible timeframes allows your employees to experience less pressure, effectively switch to new initiatives on the fly, and even deliver more consistently on deadlines.

Actsoft solutions are able to help you carve out a path to streamlined business strategy execution using a wealth of tools. Our products provide near real-time analytics about your mobile workforce’s daily operations, assisting your management team with tracking ongoing job progress, keeping productivity optimized, and adjusting timelines if need be. Features of Actsoft applications like GPS Tracking and Timekeeping can even help you pinpoint areas of your employees’ workflows that could be further optimized for greater efficiency, like certain prohibited driving behaviors using company vehicles or instances of breaks taken too frequently.

With the power of our mobile resource management innovations, poise your organization for more reliable pacesetting, additional savings, and greater growth.

The Advanced Aspects of GPS Tracking in Encore

The GPS Tracking feature in Encore is a multifaceted tool that uses advanced solutions such as Breadcrumb Trails, Traffic Overlay, and Geofences to provide companies with ways to save. Each of these aspects do this by working to increase efficiency and security even further for businesses that employ a mobile workforce.

Breadcrumb Trails

Past routes that mobile employees have taken to job sites are recorded and presented on Encore’s map through Breadcrumb Trails. Any time a driver travels to a location during working hours, their business vehicle’s position is picked up and archived in the system’s memory. Company supervisors can then go back and review trip histories to enhance accountability and verify job completion.

Traffic Overlay

At the beginning of each work day, administrators in a company’s home office can also use Traffic Overlay to see near real-time congestion patterns on roadways. By identifying the most traffic-heavy routes to job sites prior to travel, companies can help their mobile employees avoid excessive idling, save time and fuel, and reach customer locations faster.

Geofences

Geofences help businesses improve fleet and asset security, employee accountability, and quality control, all at once. These are digital boundaries that can be custom constructed on Encore’s live view map around job sites in the field. Geofences are used in tandem with Alerts to electronically notify managers whenever an asset, employee, or vehicle enters or exits set perimeters, providing an extra layer of surveillance for their valuable equipment. In addition to better theft prevention, geofence monitoring helps organizations ensure that their workers are arriving to and leaving assignment destinations right on schedule.

These three aspects of GPS Tracking in Encore give companies like yours even more ways to save time and money. Through providing increased detail about your workforce’s daily routine, Breadcrumb Trails, Traffic Overlay, and Geofences can help you run a more effective operation.

Feature Study: ELD on Encore

Encore’s Electronic Logging Device (ELD) solution helps businesses in the transportation industry easily keep track of the information that they need to regularly document and report. Powered by VisTracks, our ELD application is a powerful tool that can automatically log important data regarding drivers’ active time behind the wheel.

Why is documentation important?

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) put in place Hours of Service (HoS) regulations that transportation companies must abide by, as a means of enhancing highway safety. HoS mandates set the total amount of time that commercial drivers can spend on the road before they’re required to rest, making documentation of these hours off critical for remaining in compliance.

Manually logging driver data takes time, isn’t always accurate, and doesn’t provide the detailed analytics that our ELD solution does. From Encore’s web portal, you can see reports of your truck drivers’ drive times and hours off, all from an integrated system that automatically captures and displays relevant data.

Benefits of ELD on Encore

ELD on Encore offers multiple benefits to transportation companies that can help them save both time and money. Costly fines can stem from HoS infractions; however, our ELD solution is able to provide your team with all the tools it needs to organize and automatically record its data, lowering your potential to incur regulatory fees like these.

Encore’s ELD solution uses a simple combination of hardware mounted into company vehicles and back end software to automatically document driver logs. This tandem consistently works to provide your drivers with extra time during daily working hours, allowing them to only focus on safe, efficient driving.

Actsoft is constantly developing new solutions to help transportation companies like yours enhance cost efficiency, improve safety, and save resources. Use our ELD solution to take the guesswork out of remaining in compliance with HoS mandates today.

How to Make Moving More Efficient

Life happens, and a new job, higher education, or even just the thrill of experiencing a new city may eventually take you away from your current place of residency. However, the common hassles of moving can put unnecessary stress on your situation, and potentially even make you reconsider packing it up altogether. The process of changing where you live doesn’t have to be difficult though if you follow these simple tips.

Plan your time wisely.

Naturally, anyone who moves typically wants to get the process completed as quickly as possible, but it’s important to come up with a plan that sets a realistic timeframe. If you’re only moving an hour away from your current location, it’s not unreasonable to think that you could be able to get settled in to your new place within just a day of moving and unpacking. However, it’s pretty obvious that the farther the distance is, the more time it will take to move. Make sure you’re able to give yourself enough time, stay productive, and work out any days you might miss from work by clearing them with your current or new employer first.

Transport first, rearrange later.

Another way to make moving more efficient is to worry about simply transporting your belongings from point A to point B before beginning to arrange your new space. This is especially helpful if you own a lot of furniture and need to make multiple trips from your old house or apartment to your new one. Having a strategy of delivering all of your stuff before unpacking it can also help you remain courteous to any family or friends you may have recruited to help you move, because it allows them to have a little bit of their free time back after all of your things have been successfully transported.

Pick the best routes.

A cross-country trek in particular can add significant costs to the mix when you’re trying to move. Gasoline costs and truck rental fees are just a couple of the many expenses to consider when you’re going to live far away from your current location, but if it’s a done deal that you have to cross state lines to get to your new home, try to identify the fastest and most fuel-efficient routes to take. Over the course of multiple hours of drive time, seemingly small factors like traffic, rental times, and delays can negatively impact your moving budget. Before leaving, choose a route that will get you there as quickly as possible, and try to avoid driving through big cities around rush hours to save extra money.

Just like how these tips can help you have an efficient move, Actsoft solutions can assist businesses with keeping their workforces efficient. See how our applications can increase productivity, save resources, and improve the ways that your company moves today.

3 Ways to Make Your Commutes From Work Less Stressful

Those dreaded red brake lights illuminating the interstate for miles on end at 5 p.m. every day are something that no one looks forward to. As heavy rush-hour traffic can be especially stressful after having just completed a full eight hours at the office, it’s important to do whatever you can to experience smoother trips home from work. Here are three tips to make those lengthy commutes from the office a little more manageable.

Listen to audio

Whether it’s music, a podcast, or the radio, having something to listen to while you’re on your way home can be immensely beneficial. Education-based audio may help you pass lengthy bouts of idle time by teaching you new things or helping you become a more well-rounded person. However, there’s still something to be said about relaxation and entertainment, and through avenues like music, you can experience both while driving home safely.

Optimize your schedule

Are there particular times of the day where you regularly notice traffic to be at its worst?  If so, it’ll help to tailor your daily schedule outside of the office a bit more toward avoiding driving far distances during those times. Choosing to meet a friend for dinner nearby after work or exercising at a gym close to your job are just two examples of activities that can help you dodge the worst of rush-hour’s snails-pace congestion, while also being beneficial to your well-being. It may not seem like that big of a difference at face value, but even delaying your usual departure home from the office by an additional 30 minutes to work out or eat first could end up saving you an hour of time that would’ve been spent in bumper-to-bumper traffic.

Find better routes

If a backroad route is longer mileage-wise than a commute home via the interstate is, consider it as an option if it offers less congestion. Even still, if that route takes you five minutes longer to get home when compared to traveling on a jammed highway, it may be less stressful for you to have a drive where there’s as little stop-and-go as possible.

Through these tips, we hope that you’ll be able to experience safer, more manageable commutes during the work week. For solutions to the traffic inefficiencies that your mobile workforce may be regularly dealing with, see how Actsoft can assist.
